We finally did it! The outcome was amazing… This was part of our “Revelation” series “Christ: Redemption fulfilled”.
We had three bread machines running throughout the service. The tantalizing smell of fresh bread baking…wafting through out the entire auditorium. Smell the scent here..Then we had the warm bread set up during communion (along with some pre-made loaves). Also we were invited to gather at the end to simply share bread together as the worship team continued to play.
Our pastor really brought it home. He is an amazing teacher.
After this week my husband wants bread machine…
Have you utilized scent in your worship design? I’d particularly be interested in other scents…
I’d eventually like to purchase a scent machine. This technology is being utilized in many commercial applications, so I know they have overcome the issue of scent sensitivity.
P.S. After lots of challenges bringing this to the table, it went so well that our pastor wanted to repeat the entire thing over again in a tabernacle experience..

I love this! It makes total sense to engage all of our senses during a worship experience. We spend so much time on the visual that we forget verses like, "Taste and see that the Lord is good".
We've BBQ'd a few times in church - that's a little trickier, but it worked (we hosted a youth BBQ fundraiser for camp after each service).

not sure who this is to: but i saw a comment on Carlos's blog about the Song actually called "Behold our God" - just thought i lend a hand and let you know that song is one i wrote and put on a record i just did a few months ago.
its on itunes or at any of the resource centers at Northpoint, Buckhead etc...

how big of an area were you filling with the scent of bread? big room? small room? airplane hangar? walk in closet?
